Church and parish of Wollomoos

St. Bartholomew

Wollomoos was probably an independent parish of the Diocese of Freising as early as the 13th century and is listed in the Konradin registries from 1315. The patron saint was the Benedictine convent Kloster Kühbach . The associated church is consecrated to St. Bartholomew and still has Romanesque wall remains on the nave sides, but in its current form, which is three meters longer, dates from the middle of the 15th century. 1524 Mini parish in the deanery had Ilmmünster only 50 adult believers ( Sundern Dorfer 'sche matrikel). Probably also damaged by the invasions of Sweden, the church was renovated in 1694 and extended by another 2.2 meters and provided with a baroque gable wall in the entrance area. From 1720 to 1730 the church was redesigned in Baroque style. In 1895 the church was rebuilt again. The late Gothic choir was demolished and a much larger chancel was built, and the interior furnishings were given a neo-baroque style, with the exception of the old baroque church chairs. In 1905 a Roman stone was discovered in the Wollomoos church, which was then placed in the St. Laurentius church in Pfaffenhofen. Since 1956 Wollomoos has been cared for by a vicar or parish administrator from Sielenbach ( Archdiocese of Munich-Freising ).
