Thalhausen is a parish village and part of the Altomünster market in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau .
The districts also include the hamlets of Arnberg and Haag and the desert areas of Schielach , Schmelchen and Teufelsberg .

Thalhausen and its districts are located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country, which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural areas of Germany .

Thalhausen is approx. 4.5 km northwest of the main town Altomünster. Arnberg and Schmelchen are to the east, Haag, Schielach and Teufelsberg to the northeast of Thalhausen.

Thalhausen lies in the valley of the Weilach , which rises in Wollomoos and flows in a north-easterly direction through Thalhausen and on to Aufhausen . South of Thalhausen, the Altograben from the southeast flows into the Weilach as a right tributary, and to the west of Haag the Wildmooser Bach from Asbach flows.

The north-east-south-west running district road DAH 18 from Schiltberg to Wollomoos runs through Thalhausen and runs along the Weilach valley.

history

The Catholic parish Sankt Georg in Thalhausen belongs to the deanery Aichach-Friedberg in the diocese of Augsburg. Schielach and Teufelsberg also belong to the parish.
The Catholic branch church Sankt Margareta in Haag, which was its own parish until the end of the 17th century, belongs with Arnberg and Schmelchen to the parish of Sankt Peter and Paul in Randelsried .

Thalhausen was an independent municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Aichach . On July 1, 1972, Thalhausen and its districts became part of the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . On May 1, 1978, the community was incorporated into the Altomünster market.
