Danube-Isar hill country
The Danube-Isar hill country (colloquially - after the Greater Region - Tertiary hill country or simply called hill country ) is a landscape between the Danube , Isar and Lech . It is classified as the natural spatial main unit 6200 in the Lower Bavarian hill country .
geography
The Danube-Isar hill country borders in the west on the Lech and the old Bavarian Donaumoos . In the north it is roughly bounded by the Danube and the Gäuboden . In the east it joins the Isar-Inn hill country along the Isar . In the south it goes over to the Munich gravel plain , the Dachauer and Erdinger Moos and the Fürstenfeldbruck hill country.
The area of the Danube-Isar hill country extends over the districts of Aichach-Friedberg , Dachau , Dingolfing-Landau , Freising , Kelheim , Landshut , Neuburg-Schrobenhausen , Pfaffenhofen , Regensburg and Straubing-Bogen . The Hallertau is particularly well known for its hop cultivation, which is a large part of the Danube-Isar hill country.
The area is 3,955 km². The hill country rises from the Gäuboden at around 350 m above sea level. NN to the Lechtal at about 550 m above sea level. NN continuously. The most important rivers in the region are Abens , Amper , Glonn , Ilm , Große and Kleine Laber and Paar .
