Location of Oberzeitlbach in Bavaria

Oberzeitlbach is a church village and part of the Altomünster market in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau . The parish also includes the parish village of Unterzeitlbach , the hamlets of Humersberg , Oberndorf , Röckersberg and Ruppertskirchen and the wasteland of Schauerschorn .

location

Oberzeitlbach and its districts are located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the Lower Bavarian hill country, which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural spatial units in Germany .

Oberzeitlbach is about 2.5 kilometers southwest of the main town Altomünster. Unterzeitlbach and Röckersberg lie to the southeast, Ruppertskirchen to the east, Schauerschorn to the northeast, Humersberg to the north and Oberndorf to the west of Oberzeitlbach.

The state road St 2047 from Aichach to Dachau runs through Oberzeitlbach and Unterzeitlbach . The south-west-north-east running district road DAH 2 from Hohenzell to Altomünster crosses Oberndorf, crosses the state road St 2047 and bypasses Humersberg in the south.

The eponymous Zeitlbach flows through Oberzeitlbach and Unterzeitlbach in a northwest-southeast direction. The Oberndorfbach coming from Oberndorf is a right tributary of the Zeitlbach.

Oberzeitlbach, Church of the Assumption

Ecclesiastically, the Catholic branch church of the Assumption of Mary in Oberzeitlbach and the St. Sebastian chapel in Unterzeitlbach belong to the parish of St. Alto in Altomünster, as do all of the Oberzeitlbach districts.

Oberzeitlbach was an independent municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Aichach . On July 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, Oberzeitlbach and its districts came to the also Upper Bavarian district of Dachau. On January 1, 1976, it was incorporated into the Altomünster market.

Architectural monuments

There are four buildings and a pigeon house in Oberzeitlbach that are under monument protection . In the districts of Unterzeitlbach and Schauerschorn there is a chapel under monument protection.
