Schmarnzell is a district of the Altomünster market in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau . On January 1, 1976, the village of Schmarnzell came to Altomünster as a district from Randelsried .
history
The message from the monastery Indersdorf is dated to the period from 1240/47 , in which the place appears as "Smegenzel" for the first time. Further mentions are: "Smergincelle" (1283), "Smaergencell" (1330), "Smergenzell" (1418), "Schmarenczell" (1478) and "Schmernzell" (1504).
A directional radio station for the US Air Force was built near Schmarnzell during the Cold War in the 1950s . It was taken over by the German Air Force in the 1960s .
