2nd Bundesliga 2001/02

The 2001/02 season of the Regionalliga was the eighth season of the Regionalliga as the third highest division in German football. It was played in two regional seasons - North and South - with 18 teams each.

The champions and runners-up in the North and South seasons went straight to the 2nd Bundesliga .

North

The northern relay played in the 2001/02 season with 18 teams. By winning the championship, VfB Lübeck was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . The runner-up and also the promotion secured the Eintracht Braunschweig .

Fortuna Düsseldorf and SC Fortuna Köln were relegated to the top league in a sporting way . The 1. FC Magdeburg received no license and had relegated, which actually sporty relegated for the next season Dresdner SC remained in the regional league.
