Hendryk Lau (born September 5, 1969 ) is a former German soccer player .
Athletic career
Hendryk Lau came to the second division club SV Meppen in 1992 via BFC Dynamo , Dynamo Lichtenberg and BSV Spindlersfeld . At BSV Spindlersfeld predecessor BSG Rotation Berlin, the 18-year-old striker moved from his own offspring to the league in the summer of 1988 . In the East German second division he played eleven games with one goal until the merging of East and West German football . In the then third-class East Berlin district league , he was able to secure the top scorer cannon in the turning season 1989/90 with 24 goals for Rotation II.
On July 15, 1992, the 2nd match day of the 1992/93 season , he made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga for the Emsländer in the 2-0 defeat against VfB Leipzig . Overall, however, he was only substituted six times that season. His only appearances in the 2nd division remained and Lau left Meppen after a year.
He went to VfL Hasetal Herzlake , where he became a goalscorer. In 1997 he switched to SV Babelsberg 03 , where he played until 2000. In his last year at Babelsberg, he was the top scorer in the Regionalliga Nord with 16 goals . He moved to Dresdner SC and two years later again to Babelsberg, which had meanwhile been promoted to and relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga . The club was even passed into the Oberliga Nordost Nord in 2002/03 , and newcomer Lau could not change that with 12 goals.
In the next two seasons Lau and SV Babelsberg 03 tried in vain to get promoted to the regional league - after a second and a third place, Lau, who was now mostly used as a joker, went to league competitor BFC Dynamo . After eight goals and 26 games in the 2005/06 season, he ended his career. His last home game, however, was a ghost game as a sanction after riots by Dynamo fans.
Further career
After his playing career, he was the coach of the A-youth of BFC Dynamo and SV Babelsberg 03 . Lau also coached the U-18s of FC Hertha 03 Zehlendorf . He himself later played in the Neuenhagens futsal team and with the old men from Blau-Weiss 90 Berlin .
