List of top scorers in the regional soccer league

The list of top scorers in the regional soccer league includes all top scorers in the regional soccer league . In the further part the most successful players and most successful clubs are named. The top scorer was the player who scored the most goals in a regional league season. A total of 134 players have been the top scorer in the Regionalliga so far.

The most successful players are Daniel Frahn and Gerd Klier , who have been top scorer four times, followed by Ernst Kuster , who has been successful three times. Johannes Löhr was the only player to date to be the top scorer in the Bundesliga . Manfred Burgsmüller , Francisco Copado , Olivier Djappa and Norbert Stolzenburg were also top scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga . The most successful clubs are VfL Osnabrück and 1. FC Saarbrücken , which have been the top scorer five times. SV Alsenborn , Tennis Borussia Berlin , 1. FSV Mainz 05 , FC Bayern Munich , Stuttgarter Kickers , KFC Uerdingen 05 , VfL Wolfsburg and Wuppertaler SV were successful four times .

Between 1963 and the establishment of the 2nd Bundesliga in 1974 there were five regional leagues that made up the second highest division. In 1994 the regional league was reintroduced. This time there were three regional leagues, with the regional league playing in two seasons in the north / north-east. The new regional league was the third highest division. In 2000, two regional league teams were formed. From the 2008/09 season there were again three regional leagues , but with the introduction of the third division , the regional league was only fourth class. There have been five regional leagues since the 2012/13 season.

Second-rate regional league (1963–1974)

All of the top scorer except Willi Lippens, title holder of the Regionalliga West 1968/69, were Germans.
