René Deffke (born November 9, 1966 in East Berlin ) is a former German soccer player and current coach .
career
Born in Berlin, he started playing soccer at BFC Dynamo in 1974 , where he also worked in the youth department with two interim positions at SV Lichtenberg 47 and BSG Luftfahrt Berlin . In the summer of 1986 Deffke was delegated to SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde from BFC Dynamo, where he was mainly used in the reserve team . There he played until October 1988, scoring 21 goals in two seasons with 66 GDR league appearances. Then Deffke moved to 1. FC Union Berlin , for whom he completed 14 appearances with 2 goals in the GDR Oberliga in the 1988/89 season. Finally, this summer 1989 was delegated to BSG Motor Ludwigsfelde . In August 1989 Deffke finally decided to flee the GDR, which he began with a trip to Prague . From there he went to Hungary and passed the border to Austria on August 28, 1989 . Via Vienna it went on to the Federal Republic of Germany to Nuremberg , from where Deffke finally flew as a destination in the western part of Berlin.
The striker then played for Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin from 1989 to 1992 and then moved to Fortuna Cologne for two years . He then played for Hertha BSC , VfL Wolfsburg , again 1. FC Union Berlin, FC Carl Zeiss Jena , LR Ahlen , Eintracht Trier and Eintracht Braunschweig before ending his active career in 2000. He played a total of 191 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored 46 goals.
René Deffke works as a player advisor and was also the coach of the Rhineland-Palatinate district league club SG Osburg / Thomm from 2008 to 2010 . For the 2010/11 season he was coach of the A-Kreisligisten Suryoye Paderborn , with whom he made promotion directly to the district league. In summer 2014 he took over BV Bad Lippspringe .
He has two daughters and is married.
