history

The association was founded in 1910. After the Second World War , the Lippspringer champions of the Paderborn district class in the Volkssportverband Westfalen , but missed the qualification for the promotion round to the Landesliga Westfalen after playoffs against Westfalia Ahlen . In the following years BV became the top team in the district class and was runner-up in 1949 and 1951 behind TuRa Elsen and VfL Geseke . Finally, in 1956, he was promoted to the then fourth-class national league. After a fifth place in the 1958/59 season, he was relegated to the district class a year later.

It was not until 1964 that they were promoted to the national league again, where BV immediately finished fourth in the promotion season. The A-youth of the Bad Lippspringer meanwhile won the first Westphalia Cup together with SC Neheim-Hüsten in 1966 . In the 1970/71 and 1974/75 seasons, the men came fourth again, before the Lippspringer came third in the 1976/77 season behind TuS Schloß Neuhaus and VfB 03 Bielefeld . In the same season , BV took part in the DFB Cup. In the first round, the Bad Lippspringer were eliminated after a 2-0 defeat at the southern Baden club VfR Achern . In 1978, BV was two points ahead of SC Verl state league champion and rose to the Federation League Westphalia . Because of the simultaneous introduction of the Oberliga Westfalen , BVL remained fourth class.

The team got off to a good start in the association league and came third in the 1978/79 and 1979/80 seasons. They were the best placements in the club's history. In 1980 only the worse goal difference against SC Recklinghausen prevented the runner-up. In the following years, the team slipped deeper and deeper in the table, until finally in 1984 as bottom of the table, relegation to the national league followed. Two years later, the team only secured relegation in playoffs against TuS Horn-Bad Meinberg and SV Oetinghausen . In 1987, the Lippspringer, who had been transferred to Group 5, were relegated to the district league after playoffs and were promoted again in 1991. In 1998 and 2002 the Lippspringer finished third.

In 2006, the BVL was runner-up behind SpVg Brakel , before the team had to relegate to the district league two years later. In 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, the Lippspringer were runner-up behind SV Heide Paderborn , FC Kaunitz , FC Augustdorf and Suryoye Paderborn , before the Lippspringer won promotion to the national league in 2015 as champions. Four years later, the club rose again as a knocked-off bottom of the table.
