The list of scorers of the East German Oberliga leads all scorers of the Oberliga of GDR on. In the further part the most successful players and most successful clubs are named. The top scorer is the player who scores the most goals in a league season. In 42 seasons, 31 players were top scorer in the GDR Oberliga. An average of 19.5 goals were enough.

The most successful players were Hans-Jürgen Kreische and Joachim Streich , each with four titles. Bernd Bauchspieß and Torsten Gütschow were each top scorer three times . Johannes Schöne scored the most goals in one season in 34 games with 38 goals in the 1950/51 season. In the mode that has been in effect since 1954/55 with 14 teams, Hans-Jürgen Kreische achieved the highest value in the 1972/73 season with 26 hits in 26 games. All top scorer were citizens of the GDR.

The most successful club was Dynamo Dresden with seven top scorers ahead of BFC Dynamo and 1. FC Magdeburg , each of whom had the most successful goalscorer of a season four times. The top scorer in the GDR Oberliga was also GDR champion nine times .
