List of the top scorer in the football league

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Uwe Seeler (here in 1968) was the top scorer in the Oberliga Nord seven times

The list of top scorer in the league includes all top scorer in the German leagues between 1945 and 1963. In the further part the most successful players and most successful clubs are named. The top scorer was the player who scored the most goals in the course of a league season. Between 1945 and 1963, the league was the top division in German football and was played in five groups (North, West, Southwest, South and Berlin).

A total of 67 players were able to claim the title of top scorer for themselves during this time. The most successful player was Uwe Seeler , who was top scorer in the Oberliga Nord seven times. The second most successful player was Ernst-Otto Meyer , who won the title four times. Meyer and Horst Schmutzler are the only players who were top scorers in a season in two league seasons. This is followed by five players, each with three titles. The highest number of goals in a season was reached by Werner Basler , who scored 54 goals for 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the Oberliga Südwest in the 1948/49 season. The second most successful player was Hans Berndt , who scored 53 times for SG Charlottenburg in the 1946/47 season .

38 times, a top scorer and his team also became champions of the respective league season. A top scorer and his team have also been German champions six times . Uwe Seeler is the only player from the Oberliga era who was both top scorer and footballer of the year in one season (the latter award was first given in 1960). Furthermore, Rudolf Brunnenmeier and Uwe Seeler are the only players who were top scorer in both the Oberliga and the Bundesliga .

Record goal scorers

The top scorers in the history of the league are:

According to his own statistics, Werner Baßler scored up to 40 league goals - and Ottmar and Fritz Walter a few fewer - making him the top scorer of the league era.

Ottmar Walter scored eight goals in the 13-0 victory of 1. FC Kaiserslautern against SpVgg Andernach in 1947/48. Werner Baßler , also Kaiserslautern, scored seven goals each in the 14-0 and 16-1 wins against Eintracht Trier and SpVgg Weisenau in 1948/49 .

  6. Wojtkowiak's actual personal goal rate was 1.29 , as he only played 31 games (Oberliga Nord 1951/52).
  7. After evaluating the match reports in Sport Hamburg , Kicker and (partially) Hamburger Abendblatt, 28 goals appear plausible . Two other sources even name 29 goals, the authors Grüne and Prüß only 27 goals. There is no absolute certainty, because z. For example, the question of "own goal or striker goal" was subject to the reporter's subjective assessment at the time (also applies to numerous other cases).
