    (N) Promoted from the 1st amateur league in 1947/48

    Holstein Kiel was sentenced to relegation on November 18, 1948 because the club had backdated the clearance papers for the player Willy Hamann, who had come from Weiden. Due to a general amnesty, Kiel was allowed to compete again in the Oberliga Nord in the 1949/50 season.

    Promotion round to Oberliga West

    As part of the expansion of the Oberliga West to 16 clubs, three further promoters to the Oberliga were identified between the three top league bottom and the second and third placed from the associations Niederrhein , Mittelrhein and Westphalia . In a playoff for third place in the Rhine area between the two runners initially suggested Prussia Dellbrueck the SC West Köln 4: 3 after extra time .

    The league was increased to 16 teams for the 1949/50 season, so Biberach and Offenburg could subsequently remain in the league. The SV Biberach waived and started voluntarily in the Landesliga Südwürttemberg, group south.
