The Brandenburg State Football Class in 1948/49 was the third edition of the Brandenburg State Football Class . This season, the 20 strongest clubs from the previous season played in two seasons in a round-robin tournament with ten participants each for the state championship. The two winners met in the final of the Brandenburg state championship. In a playoff, SG Babelsberg was able to prevail 2-1 against BSG Franz Mehring Marga after both teams had previously won a game. Both finalists qualified for the soccer east zone championship in 1949 , in which both Babelsberg and Marga were eliminated in the quarter-finals. In addition, both teams secured a place in the GDR football league in 1949/50 . The state class of Brandenburg was reduced to one season for the coming season, so there were a total of six relegated but no promoted from the district classes.
