The Brandenburg State Football Class in 1947/48 was the second edition of the Brandenburg State Football Class . This season, six teams qualified through regional round-robin tournaments for the final, which was held in two groups. The winners of the two groups met in a final. The winner was the defending champion SG Cottbus Ost , which beat SG Babelsberg 1-0 in the final on June 6, 1948 . With this victory, the Cottbus team qualified for the first-ever soccer East Zone Championship , where the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals after a 0-1 defeat after extra time against SG Weimar-Ost .
