The Mecklenburg State Football Class 1947/48 was the second edition of the Mecklenburg State Football Class . During this season, the state class was reduced to two seasons (east and west), the four best teams from each of the two seasons from last year's state class Mecklenburg, as well as five representatives from the state class Vorpommern qualified for these two seasons. Again the championship was held in the round-robin tournament. The winners and runners-up from both seasons qualified for the finals. In the end, SG Schwerin was able to win its first Mecklenburg soccer championship. With this victory, the Schwerin qualified for the soccer east zone championship in 1948 , in which they were eliminated in the quarterfinals after a 1: 3 defeat against SG Planitz . This year's Mecklenburg runner-up, SG Wismar-Süd , was also qualified for this eastern zone championship. Like the Schwerin team, Wismar was eliminated in the quarter-finals, and they lost 3-1 to SG Freiimfelde Halle .

With the SG Torgelow there was only one relegated team this season, as the number of participants was increased for the coming season, there were four promoted from the district classes with SG Neubrandenburg , SG Uckermünde , SG Hagenow and SG Deutsche Volkspolizei Rostock .
