history

Up until the end of the Second World War , football from Altentreptower only played a subordinate role. In 1945, in Altentreptow, as in the entire Soviet occupation zone, all sports clubs were dissolved at the instigation of the occupying power. After sports competitions in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania were again permitted nationwide from 1946, a sports community Altentreptow took part in the state's soccer championship. Until 1950 the SG was regularly represented in the national class, the highest football league in the country, before being relegated to the district class in the summer of 1950. In 1948 and 1949 the national class led directly to the qualification of the eastern zone championship, so that the SG Altentreptow is to be regarded as a first division community for these years.

When the district league was founded in 1952 as the third football class in the GDR , Altentreptow was one of the ten founding communities of the district league Neubrandenburg. Meanwhile, the former nameless sports community as part of the 1948 launched was operating sports community system of the Deutsche Reichsbahn adopted and in the BSG locomotive Altentreptow been converted. The BSG locomotive was in third class for three seasons, after the end of the 1954/55 season it had to be relegated to the district class. However, it was immediately promoted, and apart from another relegation in 1959, Lok played again in the district league until 1964. In 1964, the team fell victim to a reduction in the district league from two seasons to one, because 9th place was not enough for the now single-track league. Only in the last season of the district league Neubrandenburg in the GDR football game operation 1990/91 Altentreptow was represented there again, started as a BSG locomotive and converted into the civic association FSV 90 Altentreptow during the season .

Only in the first years of its existence was the BSG Lok able to present itself in football beyond the district level. In both 1954 and 1958 she qualified for the GDR-wide soccer cup competition . However, she did not get past the first round in either year. In 1954 Lok Altentreptow failed away at the second division Dynamo Schwerin with 1: 7, in 1958 the home right against the district division Motor Rostock could not be used, the Altentreptow were defeated 0: 2.

In 1991 the FSV did not get beyond the state level of the newly founded state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the newly organized DFB game operations . Relegated from the sixth class regional league in 2005 , the club was then passed through to the district class (9th league since 2008). In 2010 the first men's team was promoted to the national class and in 2014 returned to the now seventh class national league. The FSV has been playing in Season II of the national class (8th division) since 2017.
