Schleswig-Holstein State League 1947/48

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Today's Schleswig-Holstein League was founded as the Schleswig-Holstein State League in 1947.

history

After the British military authorities only allowed top football leagues at city or district level in their zone in the 1945/46 season after the Second World War , Schleswig-Holstein had already introduced an at least nationwide, single-track Schleswig-Holstein state league for the 1946/47 season. Holstein planned, which would have been first class in this period. Therefore it was planned to carry out a qualifying competition for the national league in three seasons in the season 1945/46 following the four district championships. Due to the preparations for a North German championship , these plans were given up again.

A year later, the Schleswig-Holstein State League was originally to be founded as a single-track league as a second-class substructure under the Northern Football League . Fuel cuts - especially in fuel - made this project impossible, so that the Schleswig-Holstein State League started in three seasons of 10 teams in the 1947/48 season. The first four teams of each season qualified for the single-track state league Schleswig-Holstein in the following season 1948/49, the three champions also for the final round of the Schleswig-Holstein championship.

The Schleswig-Holstein Football Association was founded on August 30, 1947, so this season was the first to take place under the direction of the SHFV.
