The Schleswig-Holstein Association League was played for the 54th time in the 2000/01 season and formed the substructure of the fourth-class Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein Oberliga. The first-placed team rose directly, while the second-placed team had to play relegation games against the runner-up from the Association League Hamburg (depending on the relegated from the Regionalliga Nord). The teams in the last three places had to relegate to the national league.
