The Schleswig-Holstein regional league was held for the 29th time in the 1975/76 season and formed the substructure of the third-class Oberliga Nord. The two first-placed teams were allowed to take part in the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord. The teams in the last two places had to relegate to the association league.

Compared to the 1974/75 season , the composition of the league changed as follows: No team was in the Oberliga Nord, while Flensburg 08 , Heider SV and 1. FC Phoenix Lübeck were relegated from the Oberliga Nord. The five relegated members had left the state league and were replaced by the two newcomers NTSV Strand 08 and Holsatia Kiel, both of whom competed for the first time in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein.

Season course

VfR Neumünster secured the championship and participation in the promotion round. The Rendsburger TSV was also allowed to take part in second place. Both did not reach the first place in their group and therefore missed the promotion. TSV Schlutup had to leave the national league after eleven years, BSC Brunsbüttel after eight years.
