The SC Comet Kiel von 1912 eV was a football club from Kiel . It was founded in 1912 in the independent municipality of Neumühlen-Dietrichsdorf , which was then just outside the gates of Kiel .

history

Until 1922 the club was not part of the German Football Association. He took part in the point games of the ATSB without belonging to the organization . From 1942 to 1945 Comet played together with clubs like Holstein Kiel and VfB Lübeck's predecessor SG OrPo Lübeck in the Gauliga Schleswig-Holstein .

After the Second World War, the game began in the then first-class district championship round SH Ost A and in the 1947/48 season the club was a co-founder of today's Schleswig-Holstein League , which began in three seasons under the name Landesliga . Relegation in 1948 was followed by promotion to the highest regional class, the Schleswig-Holstein regional league , in 1963 . Relegation followed in 1967. In the Landesliga Schleswig-Holstein (from 1968 the name of the classes below the top regional class) the SC Comet again won the championship and promotion in 1970, for the next nine years they belonged again to the highest regional division, which was called the Association League since 1978 . In 1972, the club lost the final of the Schleswig-Holstein State Cup against TSV Pansdorf . After relegation to the association league in 1979, there was another fall from the state league to the district class in the 1980s, and it wasn't until 1996 that SC Comet Kiel celebrated its return to the state league. In 2005, the club achieved promotion to the Schleswig-Holstein Association League, which has been one of the top soccer leagues since the 2008/09 season as the Schleswig-Holstein League. In the 2009/10 season Comet rose from this class.

Horst Martinsen played a game for the amateur national team of Germany as a Comet player in 1959.

Successor club SVE Comet Kiel

In the 2012/13 season Comet entered a syndicate with SV Ellerbek in the Association League North-East. In May 2013, both clubs merged to form SVE Comet Kiel . At the end of the season, SVE Comet was relegated to the Kiel district league and, in 2015, was promoted to the association league. Comet was relegated straight away, but managed to move up into the association league again in the following 2016/17 season. In 2019, through the promotion round of the runner-ups, they were promoted to the state league .
