The Landesliga Schleswig-Holstein has been the second highest division of the Schleswig-Holstein Football Association (SHFV) again since 2017 . They existed from 1968 to 1999 . In the “flexible game operation”, 34 teams are now fighting in three groups for promotion to the Flens Oberliga or against relegation to the Association League .

history

Since the first stage of the league reform in 1999, the four-track regional league has formed the second highest division in Schleswig-Holstein. The only thing that changed after the disbandment of the districts in 2008 was that this division was now called “Association League” and the four seasons were newly tailored. In 2016 the SHFV held talks about a further structural reform, which initially only concerned the merging of individual district associations. The structure of the league was also discussed later after some promoted players from the association league had major sporting problems in the following season. Finally, in June 2016, it was decided to reintroduce the regional league, which would be located above the association league.

The following teams qualified for the 2017/18 inaugural season:

mode

The 34 teams (as of 2020/21) play the promoted and relegated teams in three groups with 11 or 12 teams each in the league system . The division takes place (e) - also in the game classes below - EDP -based according to geographical aspects, whereby the clubs were given a say. The three squadrons are named Schleswig , Mitte (new) and Holstein , two of them based on the historical parts of Schleswig-Holstein , but the Eider meanders - according to tradition, the border river - regardless of football through the Schleswig and Mitte squadrons . Either way, all of the champions automatically move up to the top division at the end of the season. The last two teams of the three seasons are relegated to the association league.

Schleswig Holstein

After the end of the season, TSV Kropp (champion Schleswig ), VfB Lübeck II (champion Holstein ) and TSV Bordesholm (2nd Schleswig after promotion games against TuS Hartenholm) were promoted to the Oberliga Schleswig-Holstein .

Participants in the 2020/21 season

After the national league increased from 32 to 34 teams due to the cancellation of the 2019/20 season, the teams of the 2020/21 season will compete against each other in three groups. Because of the voluntary withdrawal of TSV Kropp from the league and because there was no relegation, there would have been "actually" 37 national division teams. However, FC Reher / Puls , TSV Neustadt (from the dissolved SG Neustrand) and Lübeck 99 have voluntarily withdrawn into the association or district league.
