The TSV von 1860 e. V. Travemünde is a German sports club from the Lübeck district of Travemünde (Schleswig-Holstein).
The Union
The association was founded on May 1st, 1860 as "MTV Travemünde". Through the merger of the MTV with the FT Travemünde, the TSV Travemünde was created on September 19, 1945. The association offers its almost 1,800 members the following sports: basketball , darts , football , gymnastics , gymnastics , swimming , Nordic walking , dancing , handball , judo / tai-chi , inline skating , athletics , chess , table tennis , boxing fitness , volleyball , Rehab Sports , Hot Iron, Zumba , Badminton and Archery .
The skuas
The first women's handball team played after their promotion from 1993 to their national championship in 2000 in the major league of the HVSH . Then she became a promoted member of the Regionalliga Nordost up to the championship in 2004 and the associated promotion to the then 2. Bundesliga North . Since the beginning of their membership in the second division, the players called themselves "skuas". The greatest sporting success was fourth place in the northern relay of the 2010/11 season and the subsequent participation in the promotion play-offs to the 1st Bundesliga . Since the 2015/16 season, the team played in the 3rd division north . After their relegation from the 3rd division in 2018, the skuas withdrew from the game.
