Venues of the 2nd handball Bundesliga

The 2011/2012 season 2. Handball Bundesliga Women was the 27th in their history. It was played on a single track for the first time. 16 teams played for promotion to the highest German division. The first two clubs in the final table are promoted directly to the 1st handball league . The last four clubs have to move into the 3rd division . The relegated teams from the last season of the 1st handball league were SG Handball Rosengarten and SG Bietigheim-Metterzimmer . TSG Ketsch was promoted from the 3rd division .

TuS Metzingen and TuS Weibern rose to the 1st handball league , while TSG Ketsch , MTV 1860 Altlandsberg , VfL Wolfsburg and TSG Wismar were relegated to the 3rd division .

mode

The mode is everyone against everyone with a home and away game. The two best teams went straight to the 1st handball league. The last four teams were relegated directly to the 3rd division. In the event of a tie, the better goal difference decided. If the goal difference is the same, play-offs are scheduled.
