2. Handball Bundesliga (women) 1990/91
The 2nd handball Bundesliga (women) started as before in the 1990/91 season with a north and a south relay. TSV Nord Harrislee rose from the North Season and VfL Sindelfingen from the South Season to the 1st Bundesliga .
After the end of this season, the teams from the GDR League (2nd league of the GDR) were included. Therefore, a third season ("middle") was added for the three subsequent seasons of the 2nd Bundesliga.
