The 2nd handball Bundesliga (women) started in the 1992/93 season for the second time with the three seasons North, Middle and South.
TSG Wismar rose from the North Season, Borussia Dortmund from the Middle Season and the DJK Würzburg from the South Season to the 1st Bundesliga .
