The 2013/2014 season of the 2. Handball Bundesliga Women was the 29th in their history. 15 teams played for promotion to the top German league. The first three clubs in the final table rose directly to the 1st handball league . The last three clubs had to go to the 3rd division . HSG Bad Wildungen was relegated from the last season of the 1st handball Bundesliga . The DJK / MJC Trier, who were also relegated to the sport, stayed in the 1st Bundesliga instead of the insolvent Frankfurt HC . SV Allensbach , Neckarsulmer Sport-Union and HC Rödertal were promoted from the 3rd division .

mode

The mode was everyone against everyone with a home and away game. The first three teams were promoted directly to the 1st Bundesliga at the end of the season . The last three teams are relegated directly to the 3rd division . In the event of a tie, the better goal difference decided. If the goal difference was the same, playoffs were scheduled.
