Venues of the 1st handball Bundesliga

The women's handball league 2013/14 was the 29th season of the women's handball league . 12 teams played in the main round for entry into the championship round of the German championship. The best six teams played there for the German championship , the last six teams determined only one relegated team in a relegation round this season. Since three teams from the second division will be promoted at the same time for the next season, there will be an increase in the first division to 14 teams for the 2014/15 season.

The DJK / MJC Trier , who had been relegated to the sport in the previous season, remains in the handball league in place of the insolvent Frankfurt HC , following a decision by the HBF board on July 20, 2013 .

This season five teams competed in European competitions.
