Katrin Engel (born May 2, 1984 in Mistelbach ) is a former Austrian handball player .
Career
Katrin Engel played from 1995 to 2007 and in the 2008/09 season for Hypo Niederösterreich , with whom she won the championship and cup five times. In the 2001/02 season she was voted Newcomer of the Year in the Austrian league. In Germany she played for 1. FC Nürnberg and Bayer 04 Leverkusen , and from 2010 the 1.73 meter tall back player , who can also be used on the right wing , was under contract with Thuringian HC . She has been German champion and DHB cup winner several times . In July 2017, she announced the end of her career.
Katrin Engel was part of the Austrian national team . She was the top scorer of the 2009 World Cup in China .
