Franziska Mietzner (born December 20, 1988 in Bad Saarow-Pieskow ) is a former German handball player .
The daughter of the national handball player Katrin Mietzner played for the Bundesliga club Frankfurter Handball Club from 2005 to 2013 . From the 2013/14 season she ran for the Thuringian HC . In 2014 and 2015 she won the German championship. In summer 2015 she moved to HC Leipzig . In the 2017/18 season she played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Then Mietzner ended her career.
The 1.92 m tall backcourt player was part of the German junior national team and took part in the U19 European Championship in Turkey in August 2007. She won the title at the U20 World Cup in Macedonia. Shortly before the final whistle, she scored the decisive goal to 23:22 against Denmark. She was part of the German national team for the 2009 Women's Handball World Championship in China and for the 2011 Women's Handball World Championship in Brazil .
In February 2012 Mietzner was by the readers of Handball week of handball of 2011 selected.
