Jana Krause (born June 10, 1987 in Munich ) is a former German handball goalie .

She began playing handball at the Upper Bavarian SC Weßling at the age of nine , where she then played for six years. She then moved to TSV Ismaning for a year and joined the Bundesliga club HC Leipzig in 2003 , where she also had the right to play a second game for SV Union Halle-Neustadt . From 2006 the 1.88 m tall goalkeeper was under contract with Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg , with whom she won the German championship in the 2006/07 and 2007/08 seasons . In the summer of 2009, Krause moved to Buxtehuder SV . From the 2013/14 season she ran for the Thuringian HC . In the summer of 2015, she was taking a break from exercising after she was diagnosed with Pfeiffer's glandular fever . After the 2018/19 season, she ended her career. In January 2020, Krause made her comeback for THC, for which she was active until the 2020 season.

Jana Krause completed 39 international matches for the national team . She made her international debut on June 3, 2007 in Paderborn against the Czech Republic. With Germany she took part in the 2013 World Cup.

At the end of March 2009, she started her Bachelor's degree in International Management at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences , a course that was adapted to the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences and specially designed for top athletes.
