The Spvgg. Nassau Wiesbaden 1914 was a football club from the western urban area of the Hessian capital Wiesbaden .
history
The Spielvereinigung Wiesbaden was founded in 1914 and merged with SC Nassau 1920 on September 9, 1933 to form the Spielvereinigung Nassau Wiesbaden 1914 . In terms of sport, Nassau first appeared nationwide in 1950 when it was promoted to the 2nd amateur league. In the round 1951/52 the championship could be won there, but in the promotion round the game association failed to Ober-Roden and SpVgg Bad Homburg . Already in 1953/54 the second championship success succeeded before Kastel 06 and with a 5-1 victory against Eintracht Großerritte the promotion to the 1st amateur league Hessen.
The blue-whites took 15th place in the Hessian amateur upper house in the 1954/55 season with 23:37 points and had to enter the second amateur league together with Rot-Weiss Walldorf and Rot-Weiss Frankfurt . They could not establish themselves as the third force next to the SVW ( 2nd league south ; 14th place) and the Germania (1st amateur league Hessen; 8th place) in Wiesbaden. In the round 1964/65 Nassau could not qualify for the new group league with eighth place in the 2nd amateur league and in 1965/66 the relegation from the district class could not be prevented.
In 2008 the Spvgg.Nassau Wiesbaden 1914 with two active teams (1st and 2nd team in the A-League Wiesbaden), an AH team and four youth teams (C-youth, D-youth large field, D-youth small field and F- Youth) represented in Wiesbaden football. The sports field and the club house are located on Kleinfeldchen .
In February 2016, SpVgg. Nassau no longer occupy a board and decided to merge with the neighboring club SC Mesopotamia Wiesbaden in 1991. Numerous former youth players from Nassau are active there. The new club name is now SC Meso-Nassau. The remaining members and the clubhouse were brought into the new community. This marked the end of the independence of the traditional association after 102 years.
