Dinah Eckerle (* 16th October 1995 in Leonberg ) is a German Handball goalkeeper .
Career
society
The 1.70 m tall goalkeeper played in her youth at GSV Hemmingen (2003-2008) and TSF Ditzingen (2008-2009). Upon request, the then 14-year-old switched to Thuringian HC in 2009 . In Erfurt she attended the Pierre-de-Coubertin-Gymnasium. In the summer of 2011, she brought trainer Herbert Müller to the Bundesliga team of Thuringian HC. In the 2011/12 season Dinah Eckerle was number two in goal (behind Maike März ) of Thuringian HC after Adriana Stefani Gava terminated her contract and returned to Brazil. At the same time she was the youngest player in the handball Bundesliga. She made her debut on November 16, 2011 against HSG Bad Wildungen. In 2012 she won her first German championship with the THC. After the commitment of the Serbian national goalkeeper Katarina Tomašević , who signed a one-year contract, Dinah Eckerle was number 3 in the THC's goal in the 2012/13 season. With the commitment of Jana Krause , Dinah Eckerle also started the 2013/14 season as number 3. In the 2014/15 season she won her fourth German championship with Thuringian HC as number 2 in goal next to Jana Krause. From the 2018/19 season she was under contract with SG BBM Bietigheim . In the summer of 2020 she moved to the Hungarian first division club Siófok KC .
National team
Eckerle took part with the German U20 national team in the U20 World Cup 2014, where she was elected to the Allstar team. She made her debut for the German women's national team against Poland on November 25, 2015 in Leipzig . She has played 53 games so far, in which she scored two goals.
