Katrin Welter (born June 21, 1990 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ; born Katrin Schneider ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player .
Career
The 1.75 m tall back player played in her youth at TSG Friesenheim and in 2006 moved to the Bundesliga with DJK / MJC Trier . She had her first international appearance on January 6, 2007 in the EHF Cup in the Trier game at the Spanish club Elda Prestigio .
After the 2010/11 season she moved to SG BBM Bietigheim in the second division.
Two years later she came back to Trier, where the kitties had just been relegated to the second division, but remained in the first division due to the withdrawal of the Frankfurt HC .
In the 2013/14 season she was Bundesliga top scorer with 239 goals, 102 of them by seven meters , together with Shenia Minevskaja (239/100) .
From summer 2015 Welter played for TSG Ketsch , with whom she was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2016 .
In the 2016/17 season she worked as a player-coach at TSG Ketsch.
Then Welter ended her playing career due to health reasons and only held the position of coach in Ketsch.
Under her leadership, Ketsch rose to the first women's handball league in 2019. She worked for TSG Ketsch until February 2020.
For the 2020/21 season she will take over the A-youth and the 3rd women at Frisch Auf Göppingen .

Katrin Welter is married to the handball player Tina Welter .
