Giacomo Bonaventura (born August 22, 1989 in San Severino Marche ) is an Italian football player .

Career

In the club teams

In 2007 Bonaventura was accepted into the professional squad of Atalanta Bergamo , where he was able to gain his first experience. After two loan positions to US Pergocrema and Calcio Padova , he established himself in Atalanta's midfield and was one of the club's regulars. In the 2010/11 season he was able to score 9 goals and help Atalanta to rise to Serie A.

On September 1, 2014 Bonaventura moved to AC Milan . He signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2019. In the 2018/18 season he missed 38 competitive games due to a ligament inflammation in his knee with subsequent surgery.

In the national teams

Bonaventura made his debut for the Italian national football team on May 31, 2013 under Cesare Prandelli in a 4-0 win in the friendly against San Marino . After another assignment in 2014, Bonaventura was part of the national team in 2016. After not playing in 2017, he played a few games again in 2018. His last assignment dates from October 2018. He has not been nominated since then.
