The 2014/15 season of the 3rd division in women's handball was the fifth in its history. The unofficial North, East, South and West German championship and qualification for the 2nd Bundesliga were played in four seasons .
The games of the 2014/15 season began on September 6, 2014.

The 3rd women's division consists of four seasons, the composition of which was based on geographical factors. A double round tournament is played in each season . The four season winners are promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. The three last-placed teams are relegated to the corresponding major leagues . Deviating from this general stipulation, there may be other promotion and relegation scenarios that are bindingly regulated in the DHB's rules of play .

- The HSG Kropp-Tetenhusen decided not to participate in the coming season. However, she takes part next season with the license of TSV Owschlag as HG Owschlag-Kropp-Tetenhusen.
- The SFN Vechta decided not to participate in the relegation relegation and was thus determined to be relegated.

Relegation relegation
For the 2015/16 season , the 3rd division will be reduced to 48 teams, so 12 teams will play in four seasons. Due to this reduction, only six of the 12 upper league champions are promoted and there are relegation games between places 13 by three places for the following season and places 12.

The winners of the first two games, as well as the winner of the losers game, do not descend. The ASC 09 Dortmund increases in the handball Oberliga Westfalen from.

Places 13
The clubs TSV Hahlen and SFN Vechta , which were in 13th place at the end of the season, prevented a precautionary relegation round because they waived a possible move up to the 3rd division in the following season. The two other clubs TSV Kandel and HSG Dutenhofen / Münchholzhausen played out the order of possible advancement as a precaution.
