HSG Sulzbach / Leidersbach → Rhein-Main bees → FSG Sulzbach / Leidersbach
The first women's team, referred to as "bees" by their fans, rose from the association league to the handball Bundesliga in just four years, to which they belonged from the 2007/08 season until the bankruptcy in summer 2009. The home games were played in the fan frankenstolz arena in Aschaffenburg or in the Sparkassen-Arena in Elsenfeld . In their first season in the top division, an average of 1,500 spectators per game attended the home games of the "bees", which corresponded to second place in the audience statistics. In the 2008/09 season the first women's team played under the new name “Rhein-Main Bienen” in the first women's handball league. On June 8, 2009, the management of Rhein-Main Bienen GmbH , the economic sponsor of the Bundesliga team, announced that the license for playing in the Bundesliga for the 2009/2010 season would be returned. Several insolvency proceedings against Rhein-Main Bienen GmbH were named as the reason . In the 2009/10 season, the team played under the name FSG Sulzbach / Leidersbach in the Oberliga Hessen and made it to the 3rd division as champions .
