The HSG Hannover-Badenstedt was a handball community of the two Badenstedter clubs TV Badenstedt from 1891 e. V. and Badenstedter SC.

The first women's team played in the 2nd handball league from the 2016/17 season . In 2012 the female B youth won the German championship.

After the 2017/18 season, Hanover withdrew from the 2nd handball Bundesliga.

The HSG was dissolved on June 30, 2018 after the Badenstedter SC withdrew from the handball community. Since then, the game has been run by the handball division of TV Badenstedt von 1891 e. V., whose teams start under the name TV Hannover-Badenstedt .
