TS Woltmershausen is a sports club from the Bremen district of Woltmershausen . The first men's soccer team took part in the DFB Cup twice. The first women's soccer team once played for the DFB Cup . The first women's handball team played in the 2nd Bundesliga for two years .

history

The club goes back to the gymnastics and sports club Woltmershausen from 1890 and the FV Woltmershausen founded in 1900 , which was dissolved in May 1945. On March 3, 1946, TSV Woltmershausen was founded as the successor to which the TV 1890 Woltmershausen also flowed. On July 10, 1946, the TSV became the TV Woltmershausen . Former members of FV Woltmershausen split off on March 8, 1947 as SV Woltmershausen . Finally, both clubs reunited on September 27, 1974.

Men's soccer

FV Woltmershausen achieved its first sporting successes in the 1920s , when the team played in the first-class Weser / Jade regional league between 1923 and 1928 . From 1943 to 1945 the FVW played in the Gauliga Weser-Ems . The footballers of TV Woltmershausen qualified in 1930 for the German championship of the German gymnastics association . After the Second World War , the SV Woltmershausen succeeded in 1949 promotion to the then second-rate Bremen State League , which could be held until 1959. Two years later, the rise succeeded. In the 1967/68 season, the team finished third behind the amateur teams of Werder Bremen and Bremerhaven 93 . Since they were not allowed to take part in the promotion round to Regionalliga Nord , the SVW moved up and achieved third place behind the Heider SV and VfL Pinneberg .

Three years later, the SVW was relegated from the state league and only returned in 1980, this time as TS Woltmershausen, to the Bremen league, now known as the highest league in Bremen. In 1985, the team rose due to the poor goal difference compared to TuS Schwachhausen and Sparta Bremerhaven . After the immediate rise, the team reached third place again in 1987. After relegated again in 1998, TSW became an elevator team . After relegation to the association league in 2005, the team was passed through to the district league before two consecutive promotions brought the club back to the Bremen league in 2011 . In the summer of 2012, the TSW landed on the last place in the Bremen league and had to relegate to the sixth division Bremen.

With Tobias Duffner , the club produced a third division player.

Women's soccer

In the 2011/12 season, the TS Woltmershausen soccer players qualified for the DFB-Pokal for the first time, after defeating the ATS Buntentor 4-2 in the Bremen Cup final. In the first round at the national level, the team suffered a 0-14 defeat against second division club BV Cloppenburg . The first team plays in the fourth class association league Bremen .

Handball

The handball players from TS Woltmershausen made it to the 2nd Bundesliga North in 1993. After two years the descent followed. After several years in the regional league , he was relegated to the league in 2007.
