DFB Cup

The Bremen Cup is played by the Bremen Football Association . The official name is Lotto Cup. The winner of the Lotto Cup is automatically qualified for the DFB Cup .

Mode and story

Since the 2019/20 season, the Lotto Cup has been played out at national level from the first round. Before that, the first three rounds up to the quarter-finals were held at the district level in Bremen and Bremerhaven, before six Bremen and two Bremerhaven teams met in the round of the last eight.

The final has been held in a neutral place since 2011 and has been organized by the association itself since this year. In the first edition of this kind, 1,100 spectators found their way to the Obervieland stadium on June 4, 2011 when FC Oberneuland played against Bremen SV . The stadium was also the venue for the cup final in the following years. On June 16, 2012, FC Oberneuland defeated Brinkumer SV 2-0 in front of 1,500 spectators . The final in 2013 in front of 2,000 spectators in the Obervielander stadium was won by SG Aumund-Vegesack 4-0 against the defending champion from Oberneuland. In 2014, the number of spectators in the final was once again surpassed. 2,471 visitors saw the final between Bremer SV and Blumenthaler SV in the Obervieland stadium, which Bremer SV won 1-0. The 2015 final between Brinkumer SV and Bremer SV was won by Bremer SV 1: 5. In the 2016 final on May 28, 2016, Bremer SV and Blumenthaler SV faced each other again. The game ended 3-0 in favor of Bremer SV, who thus defended the title again. On the final day of the amateurs on May 25, 2017, the Bremer SV and the Leher Turnerschaft from Bremerhaven faced each other in the final of the Bremer Cup 2017 . Surprisingly, the outsider from Bremerhaven won the game on penalties 9: 8 after no hits had been scored in regular time. After a newcomer to the final with BSC Hastedt prevailed in front of 2,400 spectators in the 2018 final, the former series winner FC Oberneuland returned as the winner in 2019 and 2020.

From 2011 to 2019 the final was played in the Obervieland stadium . Since the 2019/20 season, the final has been held in the Florian Wellmann Stadium .
