The WFV-Pokal is the association cup of the Württemberg Football Association for teams in the 3rd division , Regionalliga Süd (4th division), Oberliga Baden-Württemberg (5th division), Verbandsliga Württemberg (6th division), Landesliga Württemberg (7th division). League) as well as the district cup winner. In the knockout system , max. 128 teams select the cup winners, who can then take part in the first main round of the DFB Cup in the following year . The competition was introduced in 1950 as a purely amateur cup competition. The record winner is SSV Ulm 1846 with ten cup wins.

From 2011 to January 2017 the cup was called "Bitburger-wfv-Pokal" due to the sponsorship of the Bitburger brewery . On January 27, 2017, DB Regio was presented to the public as the new sponsor during the quarter-finals draw , and the cup was renamed the DB Regio-wfv-Cup in the current competition .
