Football Association Cup 2010/11

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The participants of the 21 national associations of the DFB in the DFB-Pokal 2011/12 were determined via the soccer association cup 2010/11 . The winners of the association cups were entitled to participate in the first round of the DFB Cup. The three associations with the largest number of members, Bavaria, Lower Saxony and Westphalia, also sent a second participant. Thus 24 amateur clubs qualified for the national cup competition via the association cups. Second teams from professional clubs (first and second Bundesliga) were not allowed to participate in the DFB Cup.

In Lower Saxony and Westphalia, in addition to the cup winners, the defeated cup finalists also qualified at the DFB Cup, in Bavaria the second participant was determined by playoffs: the two losers of the semi-finals competed in a direct duel, the winner of this game met the loser of the cup final . The winner of this game then also qualified for the DFB Cup.
