The FC Teningen is a football club from the southern Baden community Teningen .

history

The club was founded in March 1929 and in 1938 affiliated to TuS Teningen , which was called SpV Teningen from 1946 to 1949 . On January 1, 1980, the football department became independent again as FC Teningen . FC Teningen first attracted more attention in 1992 when the first team was promoted to the Association League South Baden . In 2000, the Teningen champions of the association league and rose to the top division of Baden-Württemberg . As the bottom of the table with only 15 points and 39:91 goals, the immediate relegation followed. Even after the direct resurgence, the club could not gain a foothold in the league, and rose again after the 2002/03 season - this time as table sixteenth - again. In 2007 FC Teningen was relegated to the national league. In 2015 he was relegated to the Freiburg district league. In the 2017/18 season, FC Teningen rose again to the national league.

The Teningen team qualified three times as the South Baden cup winners for the DFB Cup . In 2000/01 they were eliminated in the first main round against the then second division MSV Duisburg with 0: 3. At the second attempt in 2004/05 , Teningen were just about to experience a sensation in the first round against Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg . The 1-0 lead by Dietmar Fischer from the 34th minute was equalized by the FCN only half an hour later and in the last minute of regular time the favorite scored the winning goal to make it 1: 2. In the 2011/12 DFB Cup they faced defending champions FC Schalke 04 , who won the game played in the Badenova Stadium 11-1. Florian Kirstein scored the Teninger's second goal in their trophy history.
