Football Association Cup 2012/13

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The participants of the 21 national associations of the DFB in the DFB-Pokal 2013/14 were determined via the football association cup 2012/13 . The winners of the association cups were entitled to participate in the first round of the DFB Cup. The four associations with the largest number of members, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Westphalia and Württemberg, also sent a second participant. Thus 25 amateur clubs qualified for the national cup competition, 24 of them through the association cups. The second teams of the professional clubs (1st and 2nd Bundesliga) were not allowed to participate in the DFB Cup.

In Lower Saxony, Westphalia and Württemberg, in addition to the cup winners, the defeated cup finalists also qualified at the DFB-Pokal, in Bavaria the best team of the 2012/13 regional league season - provided they were not the second team of a professional club - also qualified for the winners of the association cup for the first main round of the DFB Cup.
