Hasborn-Dautweiler is a district of the Tholey municipality in the St. Wendel district in northern Saarland . Until the end of 1973 Hasborn-Dautweiler was an independent municipality.
history
As part of the Saarland regional and administrative reform , the previously independent municipality Hasborn-Dautweiler was assigned to the municipality of Tholey on January 1, 1974.
economy
In the past, the economy of Hasborn-Dautweiler was decisively shaped by the Dowidat plant. Located in Industriestrasse - the local industrial area - high-quality tools were manufactured there from 1963. However, production had to be stopped in the meantime. In addition, the construction company Josef Backes, founded in 1932 and now based in Theley, was an important employer in the area. Today the metal and steel construction company Scholl, founded in 1996, is based in Hasborn together with its construction company KBM. Scholl GmbH has its business operations in the old Dowidat halls. The EVS Recycling Center Hasborn-Dautweiler is located between the two Scholl premises. The further expansion of the commercial area with a direct connection to the A1 motorway is planned.
church
The neo-Gothic church of St Bartholomew, built from 1902 until its inauguration on October 24, 1904, was rebuilt in 1969 for reasons of space. The apse was demolished and a larger transept of modern architectural style was built instead. There is also the new gallery in the eastern arm of the transept with the organ from Leonberg (2 manuals / 29 registers) and the sacristy below .
