Location of Überroth-Niederhofen in Saarland

Überroth-Niederhofen is a district of Tholey ( Sankt Wendel district ) in the northern part of the Saarland . It is located in the so-called Bohnental and was voted the “most beautiful municipality in the district” in 2002 and 2011. At the end of 2016, the Überroth-Niederhofen district had 740 inhabitants.

history

Niederhofen was first mentioned in a document in 1237/1238.

As part of the Saarland regional and administrative reform , the previously independent municipality of Überroth-Niederhofen was assigned to the municipality of Tholey on January 1, 1974.

politics

There is a partnership with the Austrian municipality of Sibratsgälle .

Architectural monuments

There are two architectural monuments in the community: a wayside cross from the 18th century and a farmhouse from 1860.
