The Saarland Bibliography (SB) lists a selection of publications from all areas of knowledge about the Saarland . The Saarland University and State Library (SULB) has been processing this regional bibliography since the reporting year 1961.

The Saarland Bibliography has been available as a database within the framework of the Südwestdeutscher Bibliotheksverbund (SWB) since 1991, and since then it has been listing the entire literature and at the end of 2019 it comprised more than 94,000 titles. We are working on a retrospective addition to the holdings before 1991. For a complete and comprehensive literature search on a Saarland topic, the previous bibliographies must be consulted.

The Saarland Bibliography is a selected bibliography based on regional studies . The content of the listed publications should be of technical and scientific interest. A complete documentation of all published and unpublished material available about the Saarland is not sought. Spatially, the Saarland Bibliography covers the area of the Saarland in its current and historical form, the Saar-Lor-Lux area, provided that the Saarland is adequately taken into account, and territories that once belonged to Saarland rulers, such as B. the county of Saar Werden . The recorded titles are uniformly recorded with the help of their own system and optional keywords. In terms of content, the Saarland Bibliography lists all types of writing: books, articles, magazines, CDs, DVDs, video cassettes, maps, electronic publications, etc. The SULB endeavors to acquire and archive these media as far as possible.

The Saarland Bibliography is part of the Virtual German State Bibliography , which has its own web portal.
