Friedrich Köberlein (born October 18, 1885 in Göhren near Pappenheim , † November 30, 1964 ) was a German SS leader .

Life

Köberlein, a police officer by profession, took part in the First World War as a soldier . After the end of the war he returned to the police service and worked there as administrative secretary of the state police. Köberlein achieved the rank of senior administrative secretary in the state police. The SS (SS no. 261 671) occurred in Köberlein in February 1935, and later the NSDAP ( member number 4037172). In the SS, Köberlein rose to the position of SS-Standartenführer in the Waffen SS in June 1944 . Already in 1935 Köberlein became a full-time employee of the SS and at the beginning of March 1936 he was entrusted with the establishment of the accommodation management of the SS disposable force . Köberlein became the main department head for this area and, after the establishment of the Main Economic and Administrative Office (WVHA), headed Office B-III (Accommodation Management ) from February 1942 until the end of the Second World War .

After the end of the war, Köberlein was arrested and questioned twice in January and February 1947 as part of the Nuremberg trials .

He was chairman of the " Protection Association for the German People " (SDV) and a member of the Witikobund .
