The 2012/13 season of the Lower Saxony Oberliga was the 66th season of the Lower Saxony Football League and the fifth as the fifth highest division in Germany. The season started on August 3, 2012 and ended on June 1, 2013.
The champions and promoted to the Regionalliga became the second team of Eintracht Braunschweig with ten points ahead of Lupo Martini Wolfsburg . The Wolfsburg qualified for the promotion round to the regional league.
Despite three relegations to the national leagues , none was relegated in a sporting way. The SV Holthausen / bee and the SC Langenhagen applied for a license for the following season and went therefore from. The TuS Heeslingen received a license for the following season and therefore had relegated.
The Free Gymnastics Association Braunschweig , VfL Oldenburg , 1. FC Wunstorf and TB Uphusen rose from the national leagues as the respective season winners in the major league. RSV Göttingen 05 hived off its first team as I. SC Göttingen 05 .
The top scorer was Benjamin Tillack from Lüneburg's SK Hansa with 24 goals.
Promotion and relegation regulation
- Promotion to the Regionalliga Nord
- The champions are athletically qualified for promotion to the Regionalliga Nord . The runner-up is athletically qualified to participate in the promotion games with the champions of the Schleswig-Holstein League, Bremen League and Oberliga Hamburg.
- Relegation from the Oberliga Lower Saxony
- The four teams in positions 13 to 16 of the Lower Saxony Oberliga will be relegated to the respective national leagues at the end of the season. Depending on the number of relegated members from the Regionalliga Nord from the Lower Saxony Football Association as well as those who have been promoted to the Regionalliga Nord, the number of relegated clubs increases to a maximum of five clubs.
- Promotion to the upper league of Lower Saxony
- The four champions rise from the regional league seasons Braunschweig, Hanover, Lüneburg and Weser-Ems.
