The Rotenburger SV is a German football club from the Lower Saxony Rotenburg (Wümme) . The club has been playing in the Lower Saxony Oberliga since its promotion in 2020 .
history
The club was founded in 1919 as SpVgg Rotenburg . At times it was also called ASV Rotenburg . At the German women's football championship in 1978, the women's team of Rotenburger SV in the North Regional Association qualified for the finals. She was Lower Saxony football champion in 1977/78 and 1986/87.
In the 2010/11 season, the men of the RSV were champions of the Lüneburg regional league and thus managed to immediately return to the fifth-class upper division of Lower Saxony. In 2015 the Rotenburger were relegated to the state league and five years later returned to the Lower Saxony upper league.
